These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mermaid Editor at mermaideditor.org, including the website, Mermaid diagram editor, templates, AI editing features, exports, accounts, paid features, and support channels. By using Mermaid Editor, you agree to these Terms.

Service

Mermaid Editor helps users create, edit, preview, and export Mermaid diagrams. The Mermaid source remains portable text, and supported visual editing features are designed to update Mermaid source rather than replace it.

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Some features may require an account, payment, API key, browser capabilities, or third-party service availability.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

AI Features

AI editing features may generate Mermaid code, explanations, labels, structure, or suggestions based on your prompts and diagram source. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your use case. You are responsible for reviewing, validating, and deciding whether to use any AI-generated output.

Do not submit content to AI features that you are not authorized to use, that contains sensitive regulated data, or that violates these Terms.

Payments and Paid Features

If paid features are offered, prices, billing periods, credits, usage limits, renewal terms, and cancellation options will be shown at checkout or in the product. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Taxes may apply. Refunds are handled according to the policy presented at purchase or, if no policy is shown, at our discretion where permitted by law.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Mermaid Editor. This includes attempting unauthorized access, disrupting the service, bypassing limits, scraping in a harmful way, submitting malicious code or content, infringing intellectual property rights, violating privacy rights, or using the service for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harmful activity.

Your Content

You retain rights to Mermaid diagrams, prompts, labels, and other content you submit, subject to any rights held by others. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, transmit, display, and generate outputs from your content so we can provide and improve the service.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit your content and use the resulting outputs.

Intellectual Property

Mermaid Editor, including its website, product design, software, templates, branding, and documentation, is protected by intellectual property laws. Except as allowed by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the service.

Mermaid is an open-source diagramming syntax and ecosystem. Mermaid Editor is an independent product and is not the official Mermaid project unless explicitly stated.

Disclaimers

Mermaid Editor is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free output, compatibility with every Mermaid syntax variant, or that AI output will be correct.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mermaid Editor and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or other users, fail to pay applicable fees, or if required by law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of Mermaid Editor after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
